About me
Dr. Robert Cox is head of the ballroom program at Snow College. He has a doctorate in athletic training (therapy), a master’s degree in athletic training, and degrees in both dance and secondary education, along with various other certificates and qualifications, giving him a unique perspective when it comes to teaching dance. He has studied and danced in Idaho, Utah, Nevada, Vermont, Scotland, and Mongolia in a variety of settings, and he has performed professionally in various companies and productions. He also has experience in directing, choreographing, and teaching many dance styles, though he specializes in Ballet and Ballroom. Aside from dance, he has taught Anatomy/Physiology, Biomechanics/Kinesiology, and various Athletic Training related courses at the University of Idaho and the University of Mary. He has been involved outside of Snow College as a wilderness guide and leadership instructor with various companies. Through his training in both sports medicine and dance, he has also developed and taught a unique course to help dancers and other athletes and movers self-correct biomechanical errors through the use of natural reflexes within the body. His family and religion are the most important thing to him, but he loves to share his scholarly findings and collaborate with dancers, therapists, teachers, researchers, and students of all styles, backgrounds, and levels.
